About Suzie

Suzie Claremont-Goumas, based on the NSW Central Coast, creates abstract paintings that capture the soul of the sea. Growing up on Sydney’s Upper North Shore, her early years were shaped by surfing, swimming, and windsurfing the northern beaches. In her twenties, she took to the open water with yacht racing and diving, deepening her connection to the ocean’s rhythm and mystery. Now living a quieter life with her family, her art channels those lifelong currents—layered, intuitive, and deeply felt. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions across metropolitan Sydney, including a recent solo show at Heart Space in Copacabana, and is held in private collections across Australia, the United States, the UK, and Europe.

I bring the ocean’s energy to life through movement, texture, and bold colour. Working with a mixed media palette of acrylics, impasto, and oils, I build layered, tactile surfaces that mirror the sea’s depth and motion.

Suzie was awarded the 2025 Central Coast Artist of the Year (People’s Choice), a testament to the deep connection her work fosters with viewers.
